Ella’s Story

I moved to Australia the month after graduating from The University of Manchester with a 1st Class Joint Honours Degree in Linguistics & Sociology in 2015. What was going to be a 5 month trip to find out more about health and yoga became so much more. I had planned to return to England to study naturopathy, due to an ever growing interest and dedication to natural medicine and herbalism. While still having a huge amount of respect for this line of work, it became clear that her passions lay embedded within intuition, as opposed to scientific studies; she wanted to explore further the power that already resided within. I saw a new yet ancient path of yoga and Ayurveda and had an unquestionable need to follow it.

My travels spanned across 5 years, roaming the continents; working in organic eateries, catering for unique retreats, studying under incredibly inspirational teachers such as Shiva Rea, Gwyn Williams, Simon Park, Bess Prescott and Tahl Rinsky. I am honoured to have assisted Lara Zilibowitz and Brooke Elliston on 4 of their global retreats (The French Alps, Yorkshire, Bali, and Sydney); catering, retreat coordinating and physical assisting.

After hosting three week-long Ella Young Wellness retreats in Morocco, I am now based in Yorkshire with a continued dedication to this way of life and never ending discovery. I teach weekly classes at Yoga Kula Leeds, Harewood Holistics, We Are Wellness and Heather Yoga and roughly a workshop a month. You can find all of my upcoming events listed here.

Plant-Based Chef

After working in various organic, plant-based kitchens in Australia (Combi, Bare Blends, The Health Emporium, 100 Mile Table, just to name a few), I have catered for yoga retreats in Yorkshire, Peak District as well as further afield in Europe and Africa. Sourcing local ingredients in various continents draws a whole new wave of creativity into each experience. I loves to immerse in the learning that comes with a new environment, culture and cuisine, as well as the ability then to encapsulate tastes from around the globe.
