Pregnancy, Birth, Postpartum

I am passionate about creating the space to honour this transition from maiden to mother and I love to support women who are revisiting the pregnancy journey again and again. No experience is the same.

Private Yoga

I offer 1-1 unique classes to fit your needs. Whether you are experiencing PGP, nausea, fatigue, antenatal depression or are caring for tearing, diastasic recti, overwhelming emotions and finding yourself in a new body, I believe I can offer a big support.

In this setting (be it at your home, in a studio or online), we begin with an initial consultation to communicate where you are currently and what I can help with. From there, I will create a full plan, over the 5 or 10 week block that you choose for us to work together.

What might a private pre-natal yoga class involve?

  • Me coming to you - your home or a studio just for us

  • Assessment of any medical notes e.g. PGP, foetal position, high/low blood pressure in order to tailor your programme to you

  • Soothing breathing techniques

  • Natural pain relief techniques

  • Mudra

  • Sonic acupuncture for baby

  • Practices of empowerment

  • Pelvic floor work to both strength and release

  • Strengthen legs, glutes, back and arms

  • Open chest, lengthen spine; learn to breathe more deeply

  • Lots of props to find comfort and stability

  • Permission to rest

From 32 weeks+

  • Assist optimal foetal positioning

  • Open and broaden hip and pelvic region

  • Positions for labour

What might a private post-natal yoga class involve?

  • Me coming to you - your home or a studio just for us

  • Closing the bones ceremony

  • Grounding of excess vata dosha* (see below)

  • Test for diastasis recti

  • Yoga Nidra (yogic seep)

  • Nurture the mother: massage, holding space for emotions to arise, ‘tucking in’ for a short nap

  • Restoration of energy through releasing achy muscles

  • Postures to nourish the pelvis

  • Rehabilitate abdominal muscles

  • Mobilisation/lubrication

  • Gain strength and balance again

*vata is one of the three doshas ‘that which causes imbalance’, and is made up of air and space. Vata in excess can lead to anxiety, scattered thoughts, inability to focus and general sense of being ‘spaced out’. Birth is a huge shift; movement increases vata so post-birth is naturally a time when vata is increased. Ayurveda teaches that opposites bring balance, so in order to bring vata back in check, we want to ground it down to earth, reconnecting with safety, stability and great care.

Group Classes and Events

Group sessions are a wonderful way to be a part of a community. Coming together with other preganant/post-natal women and carers helps us to remember that we are not alone and others are having their own challenges. Many people go on to nurture life-long friendships from those met at these times!
